Bookselling Programs
We will sell books to groups at wholesale costs, a 40% discount, if they buy in even carton quantities (46 books at a time) plus the cost of shipping. For Michael's book "Success In The Arts," sold at $10.95, that means that groups will pay $6.57 and keep $4.38 for each book.

Speaking Events
Michael speaks to various groups on the subjects contained in "Success In The Arts." Often Michael is hired outright to give his talks at art schools, etc. But if a sponsoring group wishes to hold an event and charge admission, Michael will speak at those events without fee or travel expenses as long as the sponsors will split admission proceeds as well as the profits from back-of-room sales of books and art prints. The venue must accommodate a paying audience of at least 200. The sponsoring group will be responsible for securing the venue, all local publicity, ticket sales and the conducting of back-of-room sales.

Michael will supply books and art prints at standard wholesale costs and will also cover the cost of shipping sales products to the event group. Remaining sales products may be purchased by the group at wholesale cost for ongoing fundraising. Quantities of sales goods to be shipped will be mutually agreed upon.

The best kind of event to organize for this plan is a two hour or a half-day seminar. This will justify an admission of $15 or $25, and make the event finacially viable for both the sponsoiring group and Michael.

Typically, back of room sales (BOM) at such events average $5-8 per person. For an event with a 200 person audience, proceeds could be like this:

    Ticket sales (200 @ $15) $3,000
Net profit of BOR sales:   $400-$640
    Total for the event:            $3,400-$3,640
    $1,820 for the sponsoring group
    $1,820 for Michael

If a larger audience is secured or a half-day seminar is put on, profits will be bigger.

When the number of high school and college age students who aspire to a career in any of the arts (and their parents) is considered, the potential audience in any community is rather large.

Contact Michael to discuss organizing these kinds of speaking events.
